A second edition of the "saddest book there is in Portugal" as the author immediately describes it in his first pages. A corrected and enlarged edition, limited to three thousand copies, on coated paper. A poet from Oporto, he spent most of his life in Paris. In the cosmopolitan city of culture and arts, he became friends with various important international figures, such as Verlaine, Émile Zola, Mallarmé and Sarah Bernhardt. Far from his homeland and frequently in financial difficulties, it would be in his room on Rue des Écoles where he would write part of the poems that make up Só, transposing onto its pages the pain and the solitude that haunted him. Illustrated with drawings by Eduardo Moura and Júlio Ramos and a reproduction of the poet's portrait drawn in Paris by Thomaz Costa in 1892. Considered one of the most important works in the Portuguese language, it was the only book António Nobre had published in his lifetime: a work for the most sensitive souls.
