Jorge Carrión is Livraria Lello's Author of the Month

On October 11, at 9 p.m., Livraria Lello will host writer Jorge Cárrion for a conversation with journalist Anabela Mota Ribeiro about his most recent literary works.  At the end, there will be an autograph session with the Catalan author.

In addition to his best-known work Against Amazon, Jorge Carrión is also the author of the book Bookshops, an essay in which he creates a possible chronology of the development of bookshops and their artistic representation - how they became cultural myths, centers of conversation and political resistance. This work compiles a wide range of bookshops, including Livraria Lello.

Jorge Carrión was born in Tarragona in 1976. He has a PhD in Humanities from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, where he currently teaches contemporary literature and creative writing. He writes regularly for Spanish and Latin American newspapers such as El País, La Vanguardia and Arcadia.
