A Perfect Illusion

Don Quixote de la Mancha is one of the greatest classics of the world’s literature. It follows the adventures of an eccentric, middle-aged man who becomes obsessed with chivalry and sets out on a quest to revive knight-errantry. With his loyal but skeptical squire, Sancho Panza, they embark on a series of comical misadventures that satirize the romantic ideals of medieval knighthood.
Illusion is a key word throughout the novel a major driver for the creation of this window display turning some of Quixote’s most recognizable symbols such as the famous horse Rocinante and the windmills into to chess pieces. A black and white window with a lovely touch of Viva Magenta, Pantone© Color of The Year 2023, and a color that is also an illusion created by our eyes. And who doesn’t need a bit of illusion these days?
